Jussi Salonen is a Finnish light lyric tenor. In his home country he has gained reputation especially as oratorio soloist, appearing in works such as the great Passions by Bach (both as the evangelist and the aria soloist), Requiem by Mozart and Messiah by Handel. He has sung with a number of city orchestras, the Helsinki Baroque Orchestra and the Tallinn Baroque Orchestra with conductors such as Andreas Spering, Julian Wachner, Aapo Häkkinen and Michele Vannelli.

His debute at the Finnish National Opera in Helsinki was the role of Ulrich Eißlinger in Wagner's Meistersinger von Nürnberg. In the Fall 2015 he will sing Lucano in Monteverdi's L'incoronazione di Poppea and Jaryzkin in The Nose by Shostakovich at the Finnish National Opera.

He studied at the Sibelius Academy in Finland and at McGill University in Canada (with prof. Stefano Algieri). After finishing a master's degree in Church Music he studied Voice Performance in the opera program. Since 2014 he is studying privately with Sami Kustaloglu in Berlin.
